How to make a fast zine?

This mini-magazine is made with only one sheet of paper. Then it is photocopied manually on the Risograph.

Manual method

Ten mini-zin jest wykonany tylko z jednego arkusza papieru. Następnie jest kopiowany ręcznie na Risograph.

Metoda ręczna

Fold the paper lengthwise, then crosswise in the shown places. Cut lengthwise down the middle across two-page lengths, as in the picture. Important is to note the correct orientation of the images. Pay attention also to the page numbering. Drawings shall be facing away from each other and when you look at pages 1 and 2 as well as 5 and 6 – they are not next to one another but across!

Step 1

Drawing your images might be easier after you fold a blanket into a booklet, as it with be easier with the orientation. Sketching pictures on one flat sheet might be challenging.

Step 2

Narysowanie zdjęć może być łatwiejsze po złożeniu kartki w formę książeczki, ponieważ ułatwi to lepszą orientację. Szkicowanie zdjęć na jednym płaskim arkuszu może być wyzwaniem.

Krok 2

Now use your imagination and draw your paintings. The important part here is to decide if you want to have two or more colors on your zine. If so, draw the first color on one sheet, then use a lightbox or tracing paper to draw the second layer of color on another sheet. This will be then copied into the second color on the zine.

Strage 3

Teraz użyj wyobraźni i narysuj swoje obrazy. Ważne jest, aby zdecydować, czy chcesz mieć w swoim magazynie dwa lub więcej kolorów. Jeśli tak, narysuj pierwszy kolor na jednym arkuszu, a następnie za pomocą komory bezcieniowej lub kalki technicznej narysuj drugą warstwę koloru na innym arkuszu. When photocopying is done - fold everything according to the given order of pages.

Doing it u will have a lot of fun! Don't worry if your first works are not perfect. You will learn to become better with time. Turning to professional designers might be a good decision when trying to prepare something more upgrade.
